Getting ready for a local Market Competition Day
Lots of classes to enter - not enough time. So I am just putting as many as I can together.
My handmade cards.
I have been designing a range of fantasy girls for a couple of years and have loads of them. I decided to use an element of my magical fantasy girls for these and combined them with a new fashion design set I got recently. It worked quite well. I used a handwritten font that we designed for signs that we make, and I think they look quite cool :)
A set of jewellery.
These are part of my latest jewellery range. The competition class is an item of jewellery but I am submitting this set of necklace, earrings and bracelet - all matching. I have used crackle beads for these and mother of pearl type beads. I really like the way they turned out.
Any item made of wool or wool type fibres
This bracelet is made of hand dyed and woven wool that I bought form this amazing little shop out in the middle of nowhere. The wool cost a fortune but its glowing with energy and used 3 strips here to make an woollen bracelet :)
Earrings
These were made by my 8 yr old sister. I love them and think she has a great eye for what looks good.
Mermaid
My mum made this as a project on a making unusual handcrafted sewing projects. ITs made using recycled materials - woollen hair from a jumper, body material is an old sheet...
A bag
This is a bag that I made from my old pair of jeans.
I added a hand strap and beads to decorate it. I also used some fringing.
So its also a recycled project.
Cool link: Barefoot sandals
Have a look at this site and see how to make amazing barefoot sandals with cord/thong and and beads for a cool summer look.

Update
I have been making loads of jewellery this year. I have sold quite a bit of it at a local market that runs about once a month.
Its really fun and I love the latest beads we bought. Have some great charms too. Trying to stick with unusual charms like mermaids, 4 leaf clovers, unicorns etc.
Will post some pics soon. Been real busy.

Beads and Bangles by Ray Gibson (Scholastic/Usborne)
This is a cool book with some great ideas. I like the idea of using plastic piping for thread covered bracelets.
My two new books on Jewellery Making
A mobile book shop came to visit our little island and I got 2 awesome books.
Looking forward to working with these books!
