Keeping up

As quickly as I make these, there are queues of visitors asking for them. Ok, so I ask if they want one and they do. They get to choose their colours and their design and I make it while they wait. Its exciting but going so fast that I'm not having time to even get photos of my handiwork.

Also if you look at my rack of work - there's nothing to show for it. I am trying to build up enough so that I can start selling them.

Anyway for now its something to do and I am having fun! (A bit tiring on the arms and fingers though and I do need a break here and there).

Yesterdays efforts

Friendship Bracelets

Its summer holidays and I have just restarted making friendship bracelets.

They don't sell embroidery cotton here on our island so short of buying off eBay or going to the mainland, I am kind of stuck for supplies. This has been putting me off for months and a friend of the family had suggested using wool instead. It sounded like a poor option at the time but,....

Yesterday we were in the post office and they sell wool there too, yes,...........wool at the post office,.....and some clothes, trainers and you can even rent a video for free ha ha ha.

The wool was very brightly coloured and I think because of the recession the supplies are running low and they are not being restock or have not been for months!

So we decided to buy several large-ish balls of wool. We got some 'girl' colours and some 'boy colours and altogether spent about £10.

When I got home I got out my friendship bracelet gear and my bead box with supplies and oh, I forgot to say we bought a kind of 'hanging stand' thing that I can use to store the bracelets I have already made and also hooks at the bottom for a 'Pull Attach' whilst making them. It quite cool.

This morning we read lazily in bed until mid day and then went down to start creating ;)

I had a go yesterday and made bracelets, ankle chains, and necklaces for myself and my sister and her friends. Soon our Craftroom adjoining the kitchen was full of new onlookers calling out colours for their choice. The boys though were too shy to wear bracelets as the islands are not quite as 'relaxed' as the mainland or overseas.
